Design Challenges:
Welcome to the place where I battle it out to work out all of design frustrations as I take up learning new skills in Figma, while typically getting a little help along the way!
But in all seriousness, this is where I try to hone my skills to learn how become a better designer outside of class. I will have different section in here to show some of the different small design challenges I have done and why.
Daggered Birds Eye View
I learned how to use the pen tool, along with the bend. I should have made more components and labeled things because GOD DAMN it is annoying not to have them labeled. That is the last time I think a small project isn’t working labeling. Also, the last time I think a small project doesn’t need to have components as well. I also feel like I need to get better at color choices because that took way too long to get all the right ones. Also, I don’t think a tattoo shop would need a login, but this is what came to mind when doing this challenge so.

This was a template that I made for my friend’s College Senior Assignment. The internship she did for school was with the Illinois State Police Station, so her assignment was to make a poster about her time there and what she learned.
She was first given the original template and was told to do whatever she wanted to it. I then offered to try and make a new template based on the old one for her.
I tried to use typography within the new template along with some auto layouts in this process. Lastly, I checked to make sure that the new template was clear, even if someone was colorblind by using a colorblind filter on my computer.

Overall, it took less than an hour for this process since she needed to start working soon and she loved it.
Sadly, we found out she had to us the original template and the school meant that she was allowed to change the arrangement on the original template.
